Get Ready to Jingle All the Way – The Otterton Reindeer Run Returns on Saturday, 6th December 2025!
It’s time to dust off those antlers and lace up your running shoes – Otterton’s most magical event of the year is back! Join us for the Otterton Reindeer Run, a joyful cross-country race and fun run that raises funds for fantastic community projects in our village.
Choose between a 3km festive fun run or a 10km multi-terrain challenge through the breathtaking Otter Valley. The course is mainly off-road with some sections on quiet country lanes which are largely traffic free.
We will be awarding prizes for the best adult and junior fancy dress – so don’t hold back on the tinsel, glitter, and reindeer onesies!
Come along for a morning of festive cheer, friendly competition, and an atmosphere so merry it’ll warm even the chilliest December day. Whether you're running, cheering, or jingling all the way, we can't wait to see you there!
Race Information
Race HQ:
We will once again be using St Michael's Church as the Race HQ, which will be open from 8:30am. This is where the race registration will take place. There are toilet facilities available in the church.
Number Collection:
These are collected on the day, so please arrive in plenty of time and collect your running number between 8:30am and 9:45am. Signs at race HQ will indicate which queue you should be in. Please bring ID or email confirmation of your entry. Race Officials will be on hand to help you.
Baggage Area:
The baggage area is located within the church. Please note this is an indoor unsecured area and all items are left entirely at the owner’s risk.
Facilities and Refreshments:
Toilets are situated in the church. There will be limited changing facilities so it would be best to arrive ready changed to run. After the run, refreshments and prize presentations will take place at the village hall, which is a short walk from the finish line. There will be complementary teas, coffees or mulled wine for all finishers. Other refreshments including bacon rolls will be available to purchase for a small charge.
Start and Finish Area and Course:
The start will be outside the church. Please arrive in this area in good time for the start of the race at 10am/10:15am, depending on which race you have entered. This is where there will be a briefing by race officials before the start of the race. When starting and finishing, make sure you run through the signposted finish area so your race number can be recorded. There will be marshals guiding you around the course and water stations at regular intervals. We will also have two St John's Ambulance paramedics on hand, in case anyone gets into any difficulties.
Parking:
There is no parking at the Race HQ but there is limited on-road parking around the village. Parking is available at Bicton Home Farm, EX9 7BY. There is a path from there to take you into Otterton. Please do not under any circumstances park in the Otterton Mill car park. Vehicles and their contents are left entirely at owner’s risk.
Cancellation or postponement:
If the run is postponed due to adverse weather conditions runners will be automatically enrolled for any rearranged date. In the event that the run needs to be cancelled we will not be able to offer refunds or a roll your entry to next years event.
Results:
A link to race results will be displayed on this site after the race.
The race will be run under Association of Running Clubs rules (Event Permit No. ARC/25/0748) and entrants must be of amateur status. Online entry will be considered as acceptance of the governing body rules and a declaration that you will compete on foot and run entirely at your own risk. The organizers and race sponsors accept no responsibility for participants’ failure to observe these requirements. The minimum age for the main race competitors is 16. Details of any current medical conditions, medication or allergies must be entered on the back of your race number.
